He is not calling the qualified, he qualifies the called.

THE LATEST THIS MONTH BLOG

He is not calling the qualified, he qualifies the called.

Love's Pure Light

Isaac was a day dreamer, Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper and denied Christ, David had an affair and tried to cover it up with murder, and Noah got drunk. Elisha was suicidal, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer and he was way too religious.

Timothy had too many ulcers, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody, Rehab was a prostitute, Samson – he liked prostitute. Isaiah preached naked for three years, John the Baptist ate bugs and had second thoughts about the very Messiah he baptized.

Jeremiah was way too emotional, Moses stuttered, Zacchaeus was too short, Abraham was old and Lazarus was dead. God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called! Have you ever felt inadequate? Well above are perfect examples of who God used despite some indifferences.

I picked this up blurb above from the internet, but it sure got my attention and most importantly it made me laugh!

Never say to yourself, “God can never use me.” God is not looking for the qualified, he’s looking for people who would just avail themselves to him. When Jesus called the 12 as his disciples, most of them were not even educated. Yet, Jesus equipped them and they turned the world upside down. Yeah!

When Paul wrote to the Corinthians, he told them: “not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, and not many were of noble birth.” But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are.

Need more encouragement? Well as this season I feel many of us are being stretched into new seasons where our trust and faith for who God is in our lives will be stretched so we actually grow into who he is calling us to be.  Have you ever said yes to something and then realized what you had said yes to? I want to encourage you by simply looking at Moses.

God called Moses by first getting his attention with the burning bush that was not consumed by the fire (exodus 3). God used a very simple way to get his attention.  There was nothing special about Moses (except for how God had already made him). Moses was an ordinary person like you and me. However, God called this ordinary person who proceeded to change the world.

Moses did not go to school to learn how to deliver the Israelites. Moses did not get education such that he would reckon that he was ready to go deliver the Israelites. As a matter of fact, he tried to talk God out of it. He didn't want to do it at first and came up with several excuses as to why he was not the man for the job. Have you ever been that person who has made every excuse in the book? I sure have. Yet, God chose Moses and equipped him to do the job. Of course we know that Moses did go on to do the job. As great as Moses was we know that he was an ordinary person like you and me that God chose to do a great thing. For the gift and call of God are irrevocable did you not know?

God’s method of dealing with people is opportunities and choices. He gives us opportunities and most importantly choices. What matters is the way we respond to them. We as humans can determine our destinies simply from the choices we make. Moses lived by faith and not sight. Moses was led to trust and obey God and live his life a life of triumph and national triumph for Israel. Our Choices will determine our destinies. We must always have our minds renewed each and every day, do not be distracted by the “noise” of this world.   Don’t look to the left or right but look up to Him. That is one of the biggest battles today is distraction. When something bumps you the wrong way whatever you’re filled with will spill out of you. What are you filling yourself with?

The first thing God revealed to Moses was his holiness.   God had Moses take off his sandals as the place where Moses was standing was holy ground. Moses was submissive.    God is sovereign which means he is 100% absolute in all that he is. He ensured Moses of his power and authority at work in him and he called him. God reveals such passion to Moses for his people and the fact that God choose Moses to be the one to lead Gods people out of the hardships they have been in Egypt. God may be calling you has his in a similar situation this very season, to set  a few people in your workplace hey even millions of those stuck in the mud, free!

Three pretty awesome truths about how God ensured Moses of His Power at work in him.

1.        God shows he is the God all powerful over ALL strength and precision inside of Moses and his calling to deliver Egypt. Despite his fear and doubt, God placed the gift of miracles inside of Moses as he demanded him to throw his staff to the ground it became a snake, and then he picked it up and it became a staff again. That is some serious coordination and divine precision he has placed in those he calls.

Exodus 4:1   Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?”

Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”

“A staff,” he replied.

The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.”

Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 5 “This,” said the Lord, “is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you

2.        God shows he is the God all powerful over all FLESH and he will protects the heart of his people. Why do we as supernatural beings fear one who can only hurt the flesh? Fear God for he is all powerful over flesh and the spirit of man. We live in a carnal world, why do we get triggered to respond carnally?  God was so sure to let Moses know he always has a backup, even if the people did not believe the first sign, he gives a second sign! God is a god of great back up plans to show himself great!

Then the Lord said, “Put your hand inside your cloak.” So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, the skin was leprous it had become as white as snow.

“Now put it back into your cloak,” he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh.8 Then the Lord said, “If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first sign, they may believe the second.

3.        God shows he is all powerful over all NATURE, and turns water into blood. God gives Moses a third sign of his power at work within him ( just in case the first two miracles he performs through Moses is not enough) “But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground.”

Though God showed Moses what was to happen, God really did equip him and educate him with pretty radical stuff so that people would see and believe.  This was God speed alive inside of him. Moses had a speech problem, God promised to fill his mouth. Even after all of this Moses still questions the influence he can have on the people. God assures Moses that the people will believe God also ensures Moses that it was He made man’s mouth and that he will be with Moses’ mouth.

I hope this short read inspires you and encourages you that God really can and will use you!  Even in situations you would least expect with skillset that you would not consider yourself equipped in and heading into cultures where you want to shrink back.   I truthfully believe (tough to say) that God,   he chooses those areas where we are weakest, and he puts himself there.  He puts his beautiful light here and then he SHINES so bright he busts out any intimidation we used to have. He calls us to God change the world simply starting with what is in front of us each and every day!  He uses the weak things of this world to show himself strong. God wants us to testify that it is HIS miraculous power at work in us!

Are you willing to be used by God? What is something that has been patting on your heart lately? Do you think it is time to just go for it? I dare you !!!  (enter your name here)
